A Contract of Sale is the legal document that sets out the agreed terms for the sale of your property. Once properly signed and binding, it forms the basis of the agreement between you and the buyer.
A property contract will generally include:
- The seller's and buyer's details
- Details of the property being sold
- The agreed purchase price
- The deposit and payment arrangements
- The settlement date or period
- Items included in or excluded from the sale
- Any special conditions, such as finance or building and pest inspections
- Required property disclosures and other legal information
The exact documents and disclosure requirements vary between Australian states and territories, so we recommend having a solicitor or licensed conveyancer prepare or review your contract before you accept an offer or sign anything.
If you don't already have a legal representative, No Agent Property can help connect you with a solicitor or conveyancer.
