When you receive an offer, consider more than just the price. Look at:
- Finance: Is the buyer pre-approved, or is the offer subject to finance?
- Conditions: Is it subject to building and pest inspections, a valuation, the sale of another property or other conditions?
- Deposit: What deposit is being proposed, and when is it payable?
- Settlement: Does the proposed settlement period suit you?
- Overall offer: A slightly lower offer with fewer conditions may sometimes be more attractive than a higher offer with several conditions.
You can accept, reject or negotiate an offer. If negotiating, make sure the price and any agreed conditions are clearly understood by both parties.
Before formally committing to a sale, we recommend speaking with your solicitor or conveyancer, as the process for forming a binding property contract and any cooling-off rights vary between states and territories.
If you don't already have a legal representative, No Agent Property can help connect you with a solicitor or conveyancer.
