What is Conveyancing?
Conveyancing refers to all of the legal documentation and work that goes into completing a transfer of property. When selling a property, it usually covers documents to do with the sale (the contract of sale), offers and acceptance, legal work around deposits and money going into the bank, and any checks that need to be completed prior to sale, such as title checks.
Why do I need Conveyancing?
While some people might tell you that you can do the conveyancing yourself, or can find resources online to help you, this is very risky. When you sell your property, you're usually selling your most valuable asset, so you want to make sure it's done correctly, legally, and without any hassle or mistakes. Legal professionals, such as solicitors and conveyancers, make sure they are across all of the most up-to-date requirements, and ensure you are fully protected in the transaction.
Usually a buyer will have their owner solicitor or conveyancer, and ensuring you have yours means that you have a professional representing your best interests so the process goes smoothly.
